9 Spiritual Lies
The Root Cause of Sin
"Lies" attack your identity of being created in the image and likeness of God to be loved. These falsehoods point you away from trusting the Goodness of your Creator. Instead, they are the hook that allows sin to take root in your heart.
Below are "Lies", followed by God's Truth in bold:
God does not exist.
God is the sovereign source of space, time, and all which is physical including you.
God did not create me in His image and likeness.
God created you with the ability and freedom to love Him as He loves you.
God cannot be trusted.
God is Love. God is Good. Be not afraid of Him. Seek Him.
God wants to control me.
God never imposes His will over you, but lovingly proposes the infinite wisdom of His ways.
God does not want me to be happy.
God’s will for you is to be joyful and it comes in trusting His Son Jesus and His divine plan for you.
God does not personally love me.
God knew you before you were born and sent His Son to offer you an everlasting relationship with Him.
God will not judge me unfairly. I am mostly a good person.
God is not keeping a scorecard. In fact, you cannot earn your way to heaven. He simply desires your love. Saying "Yes" to Jesus and following Him is the Way, the Truth and the safe path to everlasting Life.
God did not send His Only Son.
Jesus did not claim He was a great prophet or a great teacher but claimed to be the Son of God. He is not a liar or crazy but the One sent to rescue you!
God is irrelevant to me.
God’s vision for you is so much more than the world can offer because He completely understands you and is the Author of Life which in the end makes all the difference.
Spiritual Conclusion:
"Lies" are the root cause of sin. They attack your identity and push you away from knowing and experiencing the love of God and His plan for your life.
Truth leads you to the "Voice" you can completely trust, Jesus.
