As mentioned earlier, once you believe a lie, you enable Sin to attach its destructive chains.
Your sins imprison you and eventually they will destroy your life if you do not seek the help of Jesus.
Below are some sins you may struggle with and some you may not even be aware of:
Pride is the root of all sin. It promotes self-interest above others, including God. You seek to create a world revolving around what is good for you first.
God's way is humility.
Lust is the sin of internal thoughts or actions which reduce another person to a sexual object or solely a means to bring about your own pleasure.
God's way is chastity.
Greed is the sin of an unending desire for power and money to feed your love for physical things at the expense of your relationship with God and goodwill of neighbor.
God's way is generosity.
Envy is sin when you resent someone else’s success or happiness. Unfortunately, it can also lead you to taking pleasure in the other person's difficulties.
God's way is kindness.
Anger is sin when you intentionally hurt another out of retaliation for something you perceive is their fault. Whether you are accurate is not important to you, harming them is.
God's way is forgiveness.
Indifference is the sin when your heart becomes hardened and you lack interest in seeking the Truth about God. Your attitude can easily become “So what? What’s it got to do with me?”
God's way is concern.
Gluttony is sin when you intentionally over-consume food or alcohol. This can become addictive and overshadow your love of God and others. In severe cases, it can destroy your health and life.
God's way is temperance.
