Prayer is simply having a conversation with Jesus. He knows what is in your heart, yet always takes delight in listening to you. He is eager to help you grow closer to Him and experience His Peace.
It is important you open your heart and expect Jesus to respond. He will when you are ready to hear Him. This may happen immediately, days or weeks later. The answer may be what you hope for, or it may be different. It is always to help you drawer near to the One who loved your first.
The Bible is the timeless Word of God. It is Jesus. Hear His promise to rescue you and invitation of love.
Start by reading one of the Gospels. Imagine you are in the story because you are. Approach Jesus expecting to be set free. Believe and embrace His words. Encounter the Risen Lord in Scripture today.
Whether you are in the presence of natural beauty of creation or in a place built by the inspiration of God, these sacred moments lead to awe and wonder. You become overwhelmed and speechless. It is like you are standing on the threshold to Heaven. Know that Jesus is there. Ask Him to speak to you.
Jesus desires to meet with you more than you could imagine. He will inspire His disciples to mediate an encounter with Him. They listen with Jesus to your story. They experience your struggles, can pray for your healing, and help you see Him and hear His recognizable voice in your life.
Music can speak to the human heart in a unique way more than words alone are able to. When you combine inspiring lyrics to create a song it can be like heavenly angels singing praise to Jesus and worshiping His Holy Presence. You can either join in or let it wash over you and reveal Jesus.
Serving others is serving Jesus. You help Him in doing so. In a scene in the Gospel of Matthew (25:40), Jesus says, “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me."
Jesus identifies himself with those who are hungry, strangers, sick, prisoners, and homeless.
There is not just one personal way to encounter Jesus but there are ways He chooses to reveal Himself.
Imagine attending a large party to celebrate a person you have never met. Even though this individual has yet to arrive everyone is talking about Him. It is like you are meeting Jesus through others. This does not replace personally knowing Him but does help you recognize Jesus when He does come.
